About the Position: This position is located at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
What You'll Do
- →Serve as a Cytotechnologist with responsibility for performing a wide range of cytological and consultative services in support of Madigan Army Medical Center and associated regional health care facilities.
- →Determine the suitability of cases for accessioning and renders a diagnostic judgment.
- →Based on complex cytological tests and procedures, render a microscopic diagnosis of cases independent of a physician's (pathologist's) interpretation.
- →Ensure accurate records are kept of quality control cases, and that discrepancies are resolved; prepares amended reports as necessary.
- →Performs fine needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy technique to obtain specimens.
- →Instruct providers on proper specimen collection and submission.
