About the Role

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Aviation Logistics Center (ALC), Elizabeth City, North Carolina.

What You'll Do

  • The incumbent serves as the principal COR supporting the of Homeland Security responsibility for various contractual requirements, preparing requisition packages to procure the required services, equipment and supplies necessary to support USCG aviation.
  • Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
  • Typical work assignments include: Preparing requisition packages to procure the required services, equipment and supplies necessary to support USCG aviation.
  • Providing advice to management concerning all matters relative to the acquisition of services and supplies.
  • Monitoring and verifying contractor performance and compliance with the terms, conditions and specifications of the purchase order/contract/task order.
  • Analyzing existing contract actions and providing guidance to managerial staff recommending revisions to statements of work, contract type, specifications, etc.
  • Developing and preparing procurement request (PR) packages with appropriate stakeholders, which may include technical, administration and legal personnel.
  • Evaluating quality assurance methods and techniques proposed by the contractor.
  • Ensuring the contractor's work is within the scope of the purchase order/ contract/task order.
  • Mandatory training is required which must be successfully completed and other training may occur as necessary for success in the position.
  • Federal Acquisition Certification -Contracting Officer Representative (COR) Level II.
  • Incumbent must maintain COR Level Il certification IAW September 6, 2011 OFPP.

  • Selectee must be able to obtain/maintain a valid state driver's license.
  • Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by the closing date of the vacancy.
  • All Federal employees are required to have Federal salary payments made by direct deposit.
  • Must complete a minimum of COR level II training.
  • The certification is not required to apply but must be obtained within three (3) months after the duty assignment.
