About the Role
As a Contracting Officer at the GS-1102-15, you will be part of the Acquisition Services Division, Office of the Chief Financial Officer, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. If selected, you will serve as the Director of the Acquisition Services Division in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, the agency's Competition Advocate, and Chief of the Contracting Office (COCO) with unlimited Delegated Procurement (DPA) Authority.
What You'll Do
- →Ensures agency procurement policies align with government-wide regulations by developing internal procedures that strengthen compliance, improve efficiency, and support mission-focused acquisition practices.
- →Selects and appoints contracting officers by issuing appropriate procurement authority delegations based on validated needs, required training, and regulatory qualifications under applicable acquisition rules.
- →Serves as lead Competition Advocate by reviewing acquisition plans and justifications, identifying barriers to competition, and recommending corrective actions to expand full and open competition across the agency.
- →Oversees procurement program performance to ensure headquarters and field offices meet mission needs, deliver measurable results, and consistently prioritize customer service in acquisition activities.
- →Ensures effective use of simplified acquisition procedures to reduce administrative burden, expedite procurements under threshold limits, and improve mission support across all procurement offices.
- →Manages and oversees the government purchase card program by monitoring compliance, ensuring proper training, evaluating approving officials, and maximizing the appropriate use of micro-purchase authority.
