About the Role

You will serve as a CONTRACT SPECIALIST in the Request of Equitable Adjustments (REAs) and Claims Branch (Code 434), located in the Policy and Support (Code 4X2), Policy and Support (Code 430) within the Contracts Department (Code 400) of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.

What You'll Do

  • You will perform both pre-award and post-award functions on contracts awarded internally or assigned to MARMC.
  • You will perform certification surveys to qualify ship repair contractors throughout the United States for award of Master Ship Repair Agreements and Agreements for Boat Repair (MSRA/ABR).
  • You will negotiate and settle matters under dispute, claims arising under the contract, changes as result of waiver and deviations, and other changes in work scope.
  • You will review the dispute to identify allegations against the Government and the effect on the contractor’s cost and or schedule.
  • You will review a variety of studies and analyses of contractor businesses and financial operations supporting MARMC's Corporate Administrative Contracting Officer (CACO).
  • You will perform contract closeout processes by obtaining all necessary releases, obtains final audits and reconciles payments with allowable costs, and documents completion of all contract documentations.

Requirements

  • Applicants must meet the following Basic Education Requirement of the Department of Defense Qualification Standard for Contracting Positions: A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.
  • NOTE: The education requirement listed above applies only to individuals entering DoD GS-1102 positions on or after October 1, 2000.
  • Current civilian personnel in DoD who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000 are exempt from meeting this requirement.
  • Current military members who occupied a similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent) 1102 or before September 30, 2000 are also exempt from meeting this requirement.
