This position is located in FEMA's Region 10 Mission Support Division, Finance Branch in Bothell, WA. The ideal candidate has experience managing complex federal acquisitions, advising stakeholders on procurement strategy, negotiating contracts, and ensuring Federal Acquisition Regulation compliance in mission-driven operations.
What You'll Do
- →What will I do in this position if hired?
- →In this position, you will serve as a Contract Specialist for FEMA's Regional Offices, Region Ten, Mission Support Division, Finance Branch in Bothell, WA.
- →Typical assignments include: Serving as a Contracting Specialist in support of FEMA Region Ten and disaster field offices within the region, including contract formation, solicitation, negotiations, cost and price analysis, award, contract administration, termination, and close-out.
- →Functioning as a team lead to assign, and balance the work of team members, establish priorities, monitor progress, evaluate completed work, and ensure assignments are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
- →Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve acquisition issues, obtain required resources, and ensure contract actions support mission requirements and strategic priorities.

- →Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites.
- →All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description.
- →Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
