About the Role
This position is located within the Criminal Division, Office of Administration, Procurement staff. The Office of Administration furthers the Criminal Division's mission by providing operational support to the Division's employees in Washington, D.C., field locations throughout the United States, and in approximately 60 countries around the world.
What You'll Do
- →As a Contract Specialist, you will: Serve as a warranted Contracting Officer.
- →Generate a variety of procurement actions via GSA federal supply schedules, UNICOR, NIB, NISH, GWAC, agency BPAs and commercial sources in the open market while also applying Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Socioeconomic Programs where appropriate.
- →Coordinate contracting activities with other government agencies having interrelated requirements, e.g., obtaining wage rate information from the Department of Labor, requesting audit reports or pre-award surveys from appropriate government agencies, obtaining clearances from the Small Business Administration, and advertising work to be published in the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps).
- →Assist in conducting comprehensive cost benefits studies in accordance with the provisions of OMB Circular A-76 to determine whether commercial products and services used by the Division are to be provided by the Government or by private sources.
- →Review statements of work and provide input and insight designed to ensure feasibility and compliance with DOJ-wide contract terms and conditions.
- →Assist in preparing procurement policies and procedures based on changes in statues, DOJ regulations and best practices and offer recommendations for implementation to the Assistant Director and Director of Procurement.
