About the Role
You will serve as a Concessions Management Specialist (Park)with National Park Service. The purpose of this position is to perform analytical and operational work in support of the Commercial Services Program. National Parks Service, Channel Islands National Park.
What You'll Do
- →At the full performance level (GS-11) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Apply Laws, Policies, and Contract Requirements - Ensure concessioners understand and comply with legal, policy, and contract standards; communicate changes; uphold ethical requirements.
- →Support Commercial Services Planning & Contract Development - Develop and update prospectuses, contracts, operating plans, and risk/environmental management requirements; evaluate proposals and determine appropriate commercial opportunities.
- →Monitor and Evaluate Concessioner Operations - Conduct compliance reviews, facility evaluations, environmental and risk management assessments, follow-up inspections, and prepare Annual Overall Ratings.
- →Analyze Data and Conduct Studies - Collect and analyze operational, financial, market, and customer-feedback data to inform decisions and verify concessioner reporting.
- →Provide Customer Service, Training, and Stakeholder Support - Serve as liaison to park staff, concessioners, and external stakeholders; deliver training; respond to inquiries and complaints; facilitate collaboration.
- →Perform Business and Financial Analysis - Review concessioner financial reports, expenses, revenues, and staffing; evaluate franchise fee expenditures; conduct rate studies.
- →Perform Asset Management Duties - Support property assessments, facility inspections, maintenance plan reviews, project monitoring, and FMSS data validation.
Requirements

- ✓Under applicable law, the employment of an individual serving a probationary or trial period automatically terminates when that period ends unless the agency affirmatively certifies, in writing, that the individual's employment should continue and that their appointment should be finalized.
- ✓In the absence of agency action to affirmatively certify continued employment beyond the probationary or trial period, such appointments are terminated.
