You will serve as a Software Support Activity (SSA) Lead in the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, SE & ALRE Group, Support Equipment Department, SE Engineering Integration Division, SE Software Branch of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as the lead for managing large-scale, complex software support efforts for Support Equipment (SE) end items, ensuring software robustness, safety, quality, and performance.
- →You will provide leadership and technical expertise for all software engineering functions, including cybersecurity compliance, software testing, configuration management, and lab support.
- →You will review test reports, evaluate research findings, and assess technical progress to support the development of new software support processes and tools.
- →You will evaluate the development and design work of organic software teams and external contractors to ensure alignment with program goals and requirements.
- →You will identify, develop, and enhance SSA processes and ensure all team members are trained in their use.
- →You will generate requirements, perform feasibility assessments, and participate in all System Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR).
- →You will oversee the design, development, and management of lab space and equipment for both classified and unclassified processing activities.
- →You will provide guidance and mentorship to junior personnel and team members to foster a culture of technical excellence.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
