About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional This position is located at the VA Boston Healthcare system Brockton Campus.
- →The VA Boston Healthcare System (VABHS) is seeking to hire a full-time clinical or counseling psychologist within the Trauma Recovery Section/PTSD clinic, located on the Brockton campus.
- →The primary focus of this position will be working with veterans with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and associated concerns, particularly substance abuse as well as mood, and anxiety, and interpersonal difficulties.
- →The psychologist would be responsible for direct clinical care, including assessment, individual and group psychotherapy.
- →They must have experience with evidence-based approaches to the assessment and treatment of a variety of clinical presentations, especially for PTSD; training and experience in the provision of Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, and/or Written Exposure Therapy is preferred.
- →VABHS is a vibrant academic medical center, known for its behavioral health research portfolio and large training programs.
- →CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
- →Direct Service Provision a.
- →The psychologist provides a full range of psychodiagnostic services for veterans presenting to clinics in the Trauma Recovery Section.
- →S/he conducts initial screening assessments of new referrals and makes appropriate dispositions of all cases. b.
- →The psychologist conducts comprehensive, multimodal evaluations of veterans presenting for assessment of posttraumatic stress, adjustment, substance abuse, personality, and related disorders. c.
- →The psychologist provides a range of therapeutic interventions (including individual and group therapy) with a focus on evidence-based therapies. 2.
- →Consults with mental health staff and other medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues.
- →This psychologist consults with inpatient, residential and outpatient mental health programs to ensure the appropriate disposition of Veterans, and conducts trainings with relevant staff and trainees on trauma and related issues.
