About the Role
About the Position: This position is located within the Naval Health Clinic Oak Harbor, Mental Health Directorate, located in Oak Harbor, Washington. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.
What You'll Do
- →Determine mental health diagnoses in accordance with the most recent version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) when differential diagnosis is required.
- →Provide individual and group treatment, using various modalities as clinically indicated to include brief problem-focused interventions, cognitive-mental therapy, and psychoeducational classes.
- →Assess and provide intervention for individuals with a wide range of chronic medical conditions, and mental health issues affecting medical conditions.
- →Consult with primary care providers to select, approve, and document treatment priorities.
- →Educate clinic staff on the principles of primary care mental health via trainings and briefings.
- →Conduct outpatient group classes, stress management, relaxation training, assertive/social skills training, smoking cessation training, substance abuse identification and brief related interventions appropriate for primary care.
