This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional This announcement is for a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in the Pathology & Laboratory service, located at the Providence VA Medical Center in Providence RI.
- →This position is full time/40 hours a week.
- →Duties include but not limited to: Demonstrates a clear progression of clinical knowledge and experience by performing testing procedures on a variety of biological specimens using manual or automated methods.
- →This includes routine testing, quality control, routine maintenance of instrumentation, and troubleshooting that applies innovative procedures and problem solving.
- →Correlates abnormal lab data with pathological states, determines the validity of test results, and the need for additional tests.
- →Assesses a situation, considers the options, and formulates an appropriate course of action.
- →Monitors quality control systems and measures, collaborates in the diagnosis and treatment of patients, and provides education for laboratory health care professionals and the public in a professional, courteous, and effective manner.
- →Work Schedule: Full time; 40 hours a week.
- →Monday-Friday 8a-4:30p; rotating weekends and Holidays.
