About the Position: This position is located at Naval Medical Center with the Directorate of Clinical Support, Anatomical Support Pathology Division in San Diego, California. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.
What You'll Do
- →Perform advanced clinical laboratory testing and complex emergency analyses across all major laboratory departments to ensure proper performance and meet Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) requirements.
- →Oversee the collection, handling, preparation, and shipment of diagnostic specimens ensuring all procedures adhere to established clinical standards and laboratory protocols.
- →Modify new testing methods, procedures, and techniques to solve highly complex laboratory problems and expands available clinical services.
- →Verify instrument performance characteristics including accuracy, precision, and sensitivity to research technical problems and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
- →Audit laboratory worksheets, test results, and preventative maintenance logs to ensure completeness and accuracy of clinical data.
- →Consult with healthcare providers regarding complex or abnormal test results to assist in clinical diagnosis, prognosis, treatment efficiency, and recommended follow-up actions.
