This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount up to $200,000 & eligibility period one to five years are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
What You'll Do
- →The Clinical Laboratory Scientist performs essential laboratory testing that supports diagnosis and treatment for Veterans.
- →Duties progress from routine and moderately complex testing at GS-07 to independent, complex testing and troubleshooting at GS-09.
- →At GS-11, the scientist performs high-complexity testing, evaluates new methods, ensures regulatory compliance, and serves as a technical expert within specialized areas such as microbiology or molecular diagnostics.
- →Across all levels, the role ensures accurate results, safe laboratory practices, and efficient workflow within the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service.
- →Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm, 8am-430pm w rotating weekends Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
