About the Role
This vacancy is for a GS-0810-12, Civil Engineer located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, CIVIL ENGINEERING UNIT PROVIDENCE-PRODUCT LINE in WARWICK, Rhode Island.
What You'll Do
- →As a Civil Engineer, you will serve as a Project Manager/Civil Engineer on a multidisciplinary architectural and engineering team supporting the design, construction, repair, renovation, and maintenance of Coast Guard facilities.
- →Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
- →Typical work assignments include: Developing project scopes, conducting site investigations, performing cost estimates, and planning schedules through design completion.
- →Designing and analyzing complex civil engineering systems for new construction and renovation projects and preparing drawings, specifications, calculations, and cost estimates.
- →Providing technical oversight of A/E contractors, reviewing design submissions, monitoring project progress, and serving as COR for assigned projects.
- →Managing project execution, including construction oversight, technical submittal review, inspections, change orders, and quality assurance.
- →Performing Facility Asset Management (FAM)condition assessments, identifying deficiencies, recommending remedial actions, and responding to facility casualties.
- →Applying building codes, life-safety standards, ADA accessibility requirements, environmental regulations, and other engineering requirements to project planning and design.
- →Coordinating with diverse stakeholders and negotiating solutions to resolve complex engineering and management conflicts.
