This is a developmental position. This position can be filled at GS-07, GS-09, GS-11, or GS-12. All training and regulatory requirements must be met prior to promotion. Full Performance Level (GS-12) The primary purpose is to: To serve as a professional Civil Engineer performing operations and maintenance (O&M) engineering duties in support of a military installation. What You'll Do
- →GS-07 Uses prescribed methods to perform specific, and limited work assignments that are normally minor phases of a broader assignment of a higher-grade engineer.
- →Uses computers/computer software such as information management programs, computer aided design and drafting (CADD) programs, and project tracking programs to assist higher grade engineers in solving engineering problems and facilitate the work.
- →Assists in planning and design process for new construction, renovations, and improvement projects for real property facilities and utility systems utilizing a professional knowledge of civil engineering.
- →Complies with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures and performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.
- →GS-12 Performs O&M engineering involving design and construction that encompasses the maintenance, repair, upgrade, and operation of infrastructure facilities, including utility systems, utilizing professional knowledge of civil engineering.
- →Plans, programs, budgets, and executes required projects in support of assigned programs.
- →Performs planning and design work for substantial sustainment, modernization, repair, improvement, renovations and construction projects for real property facilities, including utility systems, utilizing a professional knowledge of civil engineering.
Requirements
- ✓COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION MAY BE ACCEPTED.
- ✓ALL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE MUST BE DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE POSITION BEING FILLED.
- ✓Note: GS:07: Basic requirements and 1 year graduate education and some appropriate work experience.
- ✓GS-09: 6 months of appropriate work experience equivalent to GS-07 and 18 semester hours or 27 quarter hours of appropriate graduate education.
- ✓GS-11: 6 months of appropriate work experience equivalent to GS-09 and more than 2 years of graduate education.
- ✓IF USING EDUCATION TO QUALIFY: If position has a positive degree requirement or education forms the basis for qualifications, you MUST submit transcripts with the application.
- ✓Official transcripts are not required at the time of application; however, if position has a positive degree requirement, qualifying based on education alone or in combination with experience, transcripts must be verified prior to appointment.
- ✓An accrediting institution recognized by the U.S.
- ✓Department of Education must accredit education.

- ✓You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
