What You'll Do
- →The CYP provides appropriate developmental care and instruction for children and youth ranging in age from six weeks to 18 years.
- →The incumbent is responsible for the administration of the facility to include implementation of developmentally appropriate programs, budgeting and financial management, personnel management, program operations, to include special needs, and compliance, among other tasks.
- →The incumbent serves as a first level supervisor for assigned staff.
- →The incumbent is expected to apply subject knowledge, ensure policy compliance, and use initiative and creativity in accomplishing plans, outcomes, goals, and objectives.
- →The success of the CYP requires ongoing interpretation of program policies, professional development of CYP employees, and needs of children, youth, and parents.
- →The work includes numerous and unrelated processes and procedures concerning the wide variety of activities in a CYP.
- →The incumbent reports to the installation CYP Administrator who provides leadership and guidance for the CYP.
- →Work is reviewed for overall effectiveness and successful operation of the program, compliance with policies and regulations, and patron and command satisfaction.
- →The primary purpose of this position is responsibility for the daily operations of their center/program and supervision of the staff associated with the center/program.
- →The incumbent must have the ability to build and maintain collaborative partnerships with family members, colleagues, organizational leadership, and community support agencies on and off installation.
- →Independently recommends to the installation CYP Administrator innovation/policy changes or refining methods and techniques to be used in providing and continually improving the CYP.
- →The incumbent is expected to apply subject knowledge, ensure policy compliance, and use initiative and creativity in accomplishing plans, outcomes, goals, and objectives.
- →Serves as a mandated reporter as prescribed by local policy in the case of suspected incidences of child abuse and neglect.
- →The incumbent has knowledge of Federal, State and local laws governing the detection, prevention, and reporting of child abuse and/or neglect.
