About the Role

About the Position: The Chief of Instructional Leadership Development (CILD), reporting to the regional Director of Student Excellence, ensures high-quality education by leading targeted professional development and coaching for district and school leaders to strengthen teaching, leadership, and learning. Federal employees in Sembach are currently entitled to receive a 42% Post Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary.

What You'll Do

  • Provide deliberate and productive opportunities to optimize curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices through professional networks for district staff and school leaders aligned with curriculum standards and programs.
  • Develop and administer a research agenda to identify, evaluate, replicate, and catalog best practices.
  • Build capacity, implement and sustain a collaborative coaching approach for district and school leaders to become more reflective practitioners and support their roles as instructional leaders.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to district and school leadership teams for developing goals aligned to the DoDEA's missions, beliefs, and priorities.
  • Supervise and lead a team of professional educators who serve as consultants, coaches, collaborators, presenters, and facilitators within and across districts.
  • Nurture and sustain a culture of collaboration and high expectations with Center for Instructional Leadership (CIL) staff and district and school leadership teams to build a shared commitment for high student performance.
  • Identify training and education gaps and provide guidance and direction for the development of intervention strategies and professional learning opportunities.
  • Provide oversight and guide effective curriculum integration and innovative application of instruction and assessment.
  • Model the use of root cause analysis and identify discrepancies between goals and current status and develop solutions in order to stimulate achievement.

Requirements

  • FOREIGN EDUCATION: Foreign Degrees and Course Work from Non-accredited Institutions.
  • Credits or degrees earned from a foreign college or university must be evaluated prior to acceptance.
  • Three evaluation procedures are acceptable: The work may be evaluated and interpreted by the International Education Research Foundation, Inc., Credential Evaluation Service, Post Office Box 3665, Culver City, CA 90231-3665 or www.ierf.org/ or 310-258-9451.
  • Graduates of non-accredited institutions may have their undergraduate work validated by admittance to graduate school and completion of a minimum of 5 semester hours of credit in a regionally accredited graduate college.
  • Failure to provide all the required information as stated in the vacancy announcement may result in an ineligible rating or may affect the overall rating.
