About the Role
The U.S. Census Bureau is seeking a highly-motivated and capable executive to serve as the Chief, National Processing Center. This position is a Senior Executive Service (SES) General position. Positions in the SES are not graded. SES pay is commensurate with qualifications. SES employees are eligible for bonuses and awards based on performance. Veteran's preference is not applicable to SES.
What You'll Do
- →The Chief, National Processing Center (NPC): Directs management of multifunctional Contact Centers in separate geographic locations, as well as the planning, directing and management of the NPC.
- →Has delegated authority from the General Services Administration through the Department of Commerce for the operation and maintenance of the facility where it is located.
- →Participates in the planning and formulation of Census Bureau policy and Census Bureau program and operational systems and procedures, advising in the areas of available and/or anticipated manpower and facilities, program costs, and operational experiences.
- →Is responsible for preparation of accurate cost estimates and budget forecasts for both the immediate future and to meet the long-range budgetary needs of the division.
- →Travel Required: Occasional Travel Description: Travel may be required to attend or present at meetings and conferences on topics relevant to the U.S.
- →Census Bureau's mission.
Requirements
- ✓Must be a U.S.
- ✓Citizen or National.

- ✓Initial Senior Executive Service (SES) Career appointee is subject to a one-year probationary period.
- ✓Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
- ✓If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
- ✓File a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report OGE-278e within 30 days of appointment and annually from then on.
- ✓You may be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
- ✓Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
