About the Role
The U.S. Census Bureau is seeking a highly-motivated and capable executive to serve as the Chief, Economy-wide Statistics Division. This position is a Senior Executive Service (SES) General position. Positions in the SES are not graded. SES pay is commensurate with qualifications. SES employees are eligible for bonuses and awards based on performance. Veteran's preference is not applicable to SES.
What You'll Do
- →With the aid of a technical staff, planning an integrated program of current statistics and benchmark Census statistics to reflect the nature of the covered economic sectors and the needs of users of the data; and recommends to the Associate/Assistant Director for Economic Programs improvements and changes in the broad overall program to be undertaken by the division.
- →Travel Required: Occasional Travel Description: Travel may be required to attend or present at meetings and conferences on topics relevant to the U.S.

Requirements
- ✓Must be a U.S.
- ✓Citizen or National.

- ✓Initial Senior Executive Service (SES) Career appointee is subject to a one-year probationary period.
- ✓Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
- ✓If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
- ✓File a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report OGE-278e within 30 days of appointment and annually from then on.
- ✓You may be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
- ✓Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- ✓There are three key documents that contain important information about your rights and obligations.
- ✓Combination of education and experience - courses shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
- ✓The experience should have included a full range of professional statistical work such as (a) sampling, b) collection, computing and analyzing data, and c) applying statistical techniques such as measurements of central tendency, dispersion, skewness, sampling error, simple and multiple correlation, analysis of variance, and tests of significance.
- ✓The quality of the combination of education and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that the applicant possesses the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform work in the occupation, and is comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of a full 4-year course of study with a major in the appropriate field.
- ✓You must submit an unofficial transcript or a list of courses that includes the following information: name of accredited institution, grades earned, completion dates, and quarter and semester hours earned.
