About the Role

upport the Military's Quality of Life programs! The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees. This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Community Recreation, and Deployed Support Branch; Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations command (CNIC); NBK Bangor

What You'll Do

  • →Actively promotes and markets the conference/catering program to ensure maximum participation in the program.
  • →Coordinates with a marketing representative to actively market the program.
  • →Researches markets and upcoming events to identify opportunities for conferences and catering.
  • →Responsible for meeting budgeted conference/catering revenue.
  • →Solicits new business through a variety of ways such as cold calls, in person visits, advertising, and use of internet.
  • →Meets with prospective clients to tour conference/catering venues, help determine clients' requirements and offers options that are specifically tailored to the clients' needs.
  • →Establishes potential booking dates, number of guests, purpose/special occasion, decorations, menu, entertainment, etc., and explains services available.
  • →Makes recommendations, determines function costs, prepares contracts, signs and obtains clients signatures and deposits, as required.
  • →Effectively and efficiently communicates and coordinates with other departments and the conference/catering team as needed for lodging, event and conference/catering needs.
  • →Works with the Installation Program Manager (IPM) and conference/catering staff to ensure successful execution of all events.
  • →Follows-up with client for evaluation of services rendered and future booking opportunities.
  • →Resolves complaints from patrons and solicits feedback to improve quality of services provided.
  • →Responsible for ensuring a clean facility.
  • →Ensures building meets fire safety, security, and sanitation standards.
