About the Role

This vacancy is for a WL - 4607-9,Carpenter Leader located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, CG ACADEMY PUBLIC WORKS SECTION in NEW LONDON, Connecticut.

What You'll Do

  • You will serve as a/an Carpenter Leader and be responsible for servicing as a work leader for a group of three or more workers in the Carpenter Shop, Buildings & Grounds Section, Public Works Branch, and Facilities Engineering Division.
  • Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
  • Typical work assignments include: Leading three or more workers in the shop and in the field.
  • Manufacturing, repairing, installing and troubleshooting a wide variety of structural systems and components.
  • Examples include: Installation of doors, locks, locksets, lock cylinders, windows, interior and exterior trim, framework, rafters, finished paneling, cabinets, countertops, flooring, and beams.
  • Exercising a high degree of initiative, expertise and competent judgment in determining the most appropriate work methods and procedures required to effect repairs.
