About the Role
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & MRTFB in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The Watervliet Arsenal is an Army-owned and-operated manufacturing center located in New York.
What You'll Do
- →Plan and layout work in accordance with drawings, sketches, blueprints, and knowledge of construction.
- →Measure and cut materials to exact specifications using straight, angle and curved cuts to ensure accurate fit, alignment, structural soundness and finished appearance.
- →Use and set up hand and power tools and equipment.
- →Install rafters, studs, sills plaster braces joists, floors, sub-floors, panels (including sheetrock, plywood, and veneers), sidings, sheathing, roofing, building paper, insulating materials, door and window frames, and interior and exterior trim.
- →Paint a variety of surfaces such as the interior and exterior of buildings.
- →Prepare surfaces, mix paints, and apply prime, intermediate and finish coats with brush, roller and spray gun.
- →Operate motor vehicles with a load capacity of less than 4 tons necessary to move material, equipment and personnel to/from job sites.
