About the Role
You will serve as a Career Seasonal Gardener with Fredrick Law Olmsted, National Historic Site. Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis.
What You'll Do
- →As a Gardener, you will perform the following duties: Prepares soil beds, turf, ballfields, flower gardens, hedges, walkways, garden fixtures and other planting areas.
- →Performs soil tests to determine deficiencies and corrects these deficiencies.
- →Plants and/or transplants a wide variety of flowers, shrubs, plants and trees.
- →Selects or recommends plants for particular purposes, such as shade, boundary lines, ground cover, and/or erosion control.
- →Prunes shrubs and trees.
- →Trims shrubs, ornamental and fruit trees and hedges.
- →Performs maintenance and limited repairs of watering/irrigation equipment.
- →Identified and diagnosis insect disease and cultural pressures.
Requirements
- ✓Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- ✓Direct Deposit participation required.
- ✓Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
