What You'll Do

  • If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Budget Analyst support in the U.S.
  • Attorney's Office for the District of Connecticut, located in New Haven, Connecticut, focusing in the areas of budget administration, financial management, and accounting and financial reporting functions.
  • Typical work assignments will include: Collecting, consolidating, and analyzing narrative and statistical data to support budget formulation, financial reporting, and operational decision-making.
  • Researching and interpreting legal, regulatory, programmatic, and budgetary guidance to ensure compliance and inform fiscal planning.
  • Monitoring, tracking, and verifying obligations and expenditures to confirm timely execution in accordance with applicable regulatory controls.
  • Preparing annual administrative budgets, operating plans, and a wide variety of budgetary reports using outputs from the financial management system.
  • Analyzing expenditure trends and cost drivers to identify variables impacting program costs and recommend adjustments for improved efficiency.
  • Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Requirements

  • All academic degrees and coursework must be completed at a college or university that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S.
  • Department of Education.

  • OR Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the above education requirements if you can show that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.
