Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, USBP Headquarters, Mission Support Directorate, Human Capital and Training Division, Training & Use of Force Branch, located in Ashburn, VA
What You'll Do
- →Relocation Authorized Position: All relocations will be placed on hold at the time of selection, as USBP awaits to receive funding.
- →As soon as funding becomes available, you will be contacted by the CBP Hiring Center to coordinate an enter on duty (EOD) date and complete the necessary relocation forms.

- →In addition, a VRP verification process has been established.
- →Please be informed that within 90 days after your report date, you will be requested to provide valid documentation confirming that you have established a residence closer to the new duty location.

- →This position will allow you to use your expertise to prevent illegal entry of aliens into the United States by land, water, or air; enforce criminal provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Laws; and seek out and apprehend smugglers or aliens who are in the United States illegally.

- →This position starts at a salary of $109,383.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $142,199.00 (GS-13, Step 10).
- →As a Border Patrol Agent (Headquarters Programs), you will serve as a secondary administrative law enforcement officer (under 5 U.S.C. 8336 (c) and 8412 (d).
- →In this position you will assist with training coordination for National Capital Region employees.
- →Typical work assignments will include: Collaborating on plans, policies, and procedures governing the execution of projects and operations Serving as a liaison between U.S.
Requirements
- ✓You must be a U.S.
- ✓You may be returned, at any time, to the position from which temporarily promoted, to the last permanent official station and position held prior to this NTE assignment, and the return is not subject to the procedures found in 5 C.F.R. §§ 351, 432, 752, and 771.
- ✓If you are currently at the grade level of the position announced, this action will result in a reassignment, and you may be returned at any time to a same or similar position held prior to this NTE assignment.
- ✓If you currently hold a grade level higher than the grade being announced, this action will result in a change to lower grade, and you may be returned at any time to the position held prior to this temporary assignment.
- ✓A return to the previous duty location will be coordinated by losing and gaining sectors upon completion of the NTE assignment.

- ✓The USBP Rotation Program IOP dictates the terms of rotating out of the NTE assignment once the assignment has concluded.
