What You'll Do
- →You will work as a journeyman Heating and Boiler Equipment Mechanic.
- →You will repair, overhaul, maintenance, and servicing of industrial steam, hot water, and forced air heating systems, water softeners, chemical treatment equipment, associated steam piping, water piping, and equipment.
- →You will diagnose and locate malfunctions.
- →You will disassemble, repair, replace, and/or adjust thermostats, pressurestats, humistats, relays, switches, burner, burner controls, dampers, and automatic or electronic control devices.
- →You will disassemble, repair air compressors and related components; steam condensers, steam and hot water generators, traps, relief valves, pumps and motors.
- →You will assure that safety and housekeeping rules are followed (e.g., ensure that machine capacities are not exceeded and that tools are properly used).
- →You will check work in progress and when finished check compliance with supervisors' instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines.
- →You will answer workers' questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directions.
