This position is located in the Office of the Inspector General (OIG), Audit Section, at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The OIG's statutory mission and responsibilities, includes, among others; detecting and preventing fraud, waste, abuse and mismanagement in agency programs and operations; promoting economy, efficiency, and effectiveness in agency programs and operations; and conducting audits, investigations, inspections, and reviews.
What You'll Do
- →This position serves as a Senior Auditor, responsible for directing, planning, and executing financial and information system audits.
- →The incumbent contracts audit work, plans, monitors, and ensures that work is performed in accordance with standards prescribed the Government Accountability Office (GAO).
Requirements
- ✓You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills and abilities) in the following areas: Auditing Technical Expertise/Competence Oral Communication Written Communication Problem Solving Flexibility Please refer to the OPM Auditing Series 0511 for the specific Education/Experience requirements for this position.
- ✓Degree: auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting.
- ✓OR Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge.
- ✓The applicant's background must also include one of the following: A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours.
