This position is in Primary Care Service of the Martinsburg VAMC, with duties at the Fort Detrick Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Frederick, MD. The staff audiologist conducts full-range audiologic evaluations to determine type and degree of hearing loss, assesses need for amplification, predicts and measures amplification effectiveness, and provides rehabilitation and counseling for veterans with hearing loss.
What You'll Do
- →Major duties include but are not limited to: Uses a wide-rang of knowledge and skill in applying evidenced-based principles and methodologies of the practice of Audiology across the spectrum of adult patients.
- →Develops coherent treatment strategies.
- →Demonstrates knowledge of clinical Audiology services.
- →Performs clinical Audiology services independently.
- →Conducts assessments, provides treatment interventions.
- →Provides consultation to other health care professionals.
- →Completes documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
- →Demonstrates ability to perform functions associated with contemporary Audiology practice.
- →Participates in orientation / training of medical staff, students, and residents.
- →Assists in orientation and training of new staff.
- →Assists in the training and supervision of students, trainees, externs and fellows providing feedback on progress toward established educational goals.
- →Maintains knowledge and skill of contemporary Audiology practice through continuing education programs, journals, textbooks, and in-service programs.
- →Provides patient and family education.
- →Participates in performance improvement Follows applicable informed consent processes, HIPPA rules on privacy and protecting of patient rights, and computer security processes.
Requirements
