About the Role
This position is in the Excepted Service. Selection under this appointment does not confer civil service competitive status. Salary Ranges are the following unless statutory/regulatory rates prevail. For the Redstone Arsenal, AL Location: $130,987 to $197,200 (includes 21.91% locality) For the Schriever SFB, CO Location: $129,096 to $197,200 (includes 20.15% locality)
What You'll Do
- →Plans and organizes work and meets deadlines with minimal supervisory instruction.
- →Personally handles complex, novel and difficult legal issues, providing and carrying out special assignments for the General Counsel on urgent, important and precedent-setting legal areas.
- →Represents MDA in meetings with other departments and agencies to include the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Government Accountability Office (GAO), the DoD Inspector General (IG), other departments and agencies, and contractors.
- →Assists the DOJ or other DoW counsel in prosecuting/defending litigation involving the agency, to include responding to discovery requests, compiling documents, preparing briefs and memoranda of law, and preparation of agency personnel for litigation.
- →Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must possess a professional law degree (Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor (J.D.)) from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association by the closing date of the announcement.
