About the Role
About the Position: This position is located with the Headquarters Department of the Army, Deputy General Counsel, Acquisition Division at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. If you are currently serving in a permanent, competitive service appointment in the Federal service, and are selected for this position, the appointment will remove you from the competitive service while you occupy this position.
What You'll Do
- →Advises high levels of command and senior Army officials on a variety of legal issues associated with assigned defense acquisition programs and general procurement, and fiscal law and policy matters.
- →Performs necessary research, and prepares legal opinions that address pertinent legal and policy authorities and advises upon a recommended course of action to resolve such issues.
- →Participates in periodic program status reviews and other similar meetings to ensure familiarity with program activities and facilitate the early identification and resolution of legal issues.
- →Participates in HQDA-level review of solicitations and contracts in support of acquisition programs to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and policy guidance.
- →Reviews policy actions and transactional matters in the areas of acquisition, procurement, industrial base, information technology, socioeconomic policy, and competitive sourcing.
- →Provides legal advice in support of international cooperative research, development, and acquisition programs.
- →Provides technical supervision to junior attorneys in the Office of the General Counsel.
