About the Role
About the position: Serves as an Attorney-Adviser (Contract) in the DHA Office of General Counsel. This position is located in San Antonio, Texas. Position is a NH-04 which is the equivalent of a GS-14/15. This position is in the Excepted Service and does not confer competitive status.
What You'll Do
- →Provide legal advisory services to a range of clients in all areas of contract law, including contract financing, formation, administration, litigation, and close-out.
- →Render opinions and advice on fiscal law matters.
- →Review complex contractual documents and provisions for legal sufficiency and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policy.
- →Examine and coordinate on various legal correspondence, including acquisition plans, contracting officer final decisions, contracting officer correspondence, non-contractual instruments, and other documents.
- →Serve as principal/lead attorney in charge of preparation and presentation of contract cases before administrative and judicial forums.
- →Serve as legal counsel for Defense Health Agency (DHA) acquisitions and acquisition programs.
- →Develop formal written opinions that outline pertinent risks, likely legal outcomes, and available options for cases.
- →Maintain current knowledge of changing statutory and regulatory guidance in the field of government contract law.
