About the Role

The Associate CIO for Infrastructure and Operations is a key member of the DOT's Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) leadership team, responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Department's IT infrastructure and operations strategies. This includes overseeing the planning, management, and execution of IT infrastructure cloud, and operations programs across the Department, ensuring alignment with DOT's mission, goals, and objectives.

What You'll Do

  • As the Associate Chief Information Officer for Infrastructure, Cloud and Operations, your duties will include: 1.
  • IT Infrastructure: Develop and implement a comprehensive IT infrastructure strategy that aligns with the Department's mission, goals, and objectives. 2.
  • Operations: Oversee the development and implementation of IT operations programs to support the efficient and effective delivery of IT services across the Department. 3.
  • Cyber Security: Ensure the security and integrity of DOT's IT infrastructure and operations, including the development and implementation of cyber security policies, procedures, and standards. 4.
  • Cloud Computing: Develop and implement cloud computing strategies to support the Department's mission, goals, and objectives, including the use of cloud-based services and infrastructure. 5.
  • Data Center Operations: Oversee the development and implementation of data center operations programs to support the efficient and effective delivery of IT services across the Department. 6.
  • Network Operations: Develop and implement network operations programs to support the efficient and effective delivery of IT services across the Department. 7.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other federal agencies, industry partners, and stakeholders to share best practices, intelligence, and resources to enhance DOT's IT infrastructure and operations capabilities. 8.
  • Budget and Resource Management: Oversee the development and management of the IT infrastructure and operations budget and resource allocation to ensure that programs are properly funded and resourced.
  • Work closely with senior leaders, program managers, and stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and manage IT infrastructure and operations initiatives that support the Department's strategic objectives.

Requirements

  • PRESENTATION: Applicants may be asked to prepare and present a presentation, provide a presentation on a scenario-based situation or a similar activity as a part of the applicant evaluation process.
  • DRUG TEST: This is a drug testing position.
  • You will be required to complete a drug test upon entry of this position and are subjected to at random drug testing.
  • If you are qualifying for this position by substituting education or training for experience, submit a copy of your transcripts or equivalent.
  • An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
  • A college or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S.
