About the Role
The United States Attorney for the District of Utah is responsible for prosecuting federal crimes committed within the district. The Office also defends the United States, its agencies, officers, and employees in civil actions; enforces the regulatory authority of federal agencies, and recovers funds from individuals who violate criminal, civil and regulatory laws. The Office is divided into four divisions: the Administrative Division, Appellate Division, Civil Division and Criminal Division.
What You'll Do
- →Attorney's Office, District of Utah is seeking an experienced attorney to fill an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) position in the Criminal Division of its Salt Lake City office.
- →AUSAs in the Criminal Division advise federal law enforcement agents on criminal investigations, present criminal cases to the grand jury, prepare and argue a broad range of motions, and try criminal cases before the United States District Court.
- →Applicants should be capable of handling a variety of significant and complex criminal prosecutions, including securities fraud, financial crime, violent crime, narcotics and national security.
- →Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
- →Residency Requirements: Assistant United States Attorneys generally must reside in the district to which he or she is appointed or within 25 miles thereof.
