What You'll Do
- →This posting is for an Assistant United States Attorney to serve in the office's Civil Division.
- →AUSAs in the office's Civil Division represent the United States in a wide variety of matters.
- →The lawyer selected for this position can expect to investigate and litigate affirmative enforcement matters, such as health care fraud, civil violations of the Controlled Substances Act, and procurement fraud.
- →The selectee will also defend against suits brought under the Federal Tort Claims Act, suits brought under the Administrative Procedures Act, and petitions for writs of mandamus and habeas cases.
- →The selectee will also represent Federal agencies in bankruptcies, state and Federal foreclosures, summons enforcement actions, and other miscellaneous civil matters.
- →The selectee may also assist with enforcing monetary penalties and forfeitures.
- →Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Requirements
