About the Role
There is one Assistant U.S. Attorney (Appellate Division) position that will be located in Beaumont, Plano, Sherman, or Tyler, TX. This position is being announced as an AD 0905-21/29 depending on years of experience.
What You'll Do
- →Please note: This is a term position not-to-exceed September 30, 2029, subject to availability of funds.
- →This position may be extended, or made permanent, without further advertising.
- →Attorney's Office is currently seeking to fill an AUSA position in the Appellate Division.
- →The Appellate Division represents the U.S.
- →Attorney's Office in criminal matters in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
- →As an AUSA in the Appellate Division, you will research, write appellate briefs and post-conviction responses, and present oral arguments on a variety of complex and novel issues involving the constitution, statutory construction, evidentiary and procedural matters, and sentencing issues.
- →You will be assigned immigration cases.
- →You may also handle other types of cases as needed.
- →You will also provide real-time trial assistance to AUSAs.
- →Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
