About the Role

The OIEA is seeking an Assistant Director - Office of Outreach, Technology and Administration. As an Assistant Director, you will oversee staff who provide outreach and financial education to tens of thousands of current and potential investors, including students, athletes, active duties military and veterans, and seniors. The investor education team participates in more than 500 investor education events every year and produces materials to educate and protect investors.

What You'll Do

  • In this role as an Assistant Director, you will be responsible for: Managing, assigning and coordinating the work of teams of attorneys and other staff in a collaborative and positive environment to achieve OIEA objectives and Commission priorities.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and communication with Commission staff at all levels.
  • Consulting and coordinating with other regulators, SROs, broker-dealers, and other financial market participants, as well as Commission staff as necessary and appropriate to complete assignments.
  • Providing legal counsel on a broad range of sensitive and complex matters relating to retail investors.
  • Evaluating and refining processes to improve efficiency, reduce redundancies, and ensure the OIEA's work supports mission delivery.
  • Creating or supporting the creation of content on key securities topics, including investing principles, emerging products, and violations of securities laws to support OIEA initiatives.

  • If selected, a start date will not be established until official transcripts are received.
  • FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs.
