This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain their active membership in the AF Reserve unit where assigned. ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month. What You'll Do
- →The primary purpose of this position is: as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) to exercise technical and administrative supervision over subordinate workers in accomplishing trades and labor inspection work in the Quality Assurance Flight.
- →Trains reservist in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein.
- →DUTIES: DUTY 1: Performs work planning responsibilities.
- →Plans use of workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a daily or by project basis.
- →Adheres to work priorities, project schedules, resources, and detailed work plans established by higher-level supervisors.
- →Follows customary work cycles and sequences in planning work assignments.
- →Tracks and reports progress on work assignments and requests authority to adjust worker assignments and to use overtime, equipment, and materials to meet schedules.
- →Recommends changes to schedules, priorities, and work sequences as necessary and makes minor deviations in procedures or redirects resources under their control to overcome problems such as equipment failure, material delays, or unplanned absences.
- →Confers with supervisors and other appropriate personnel to resolve quality control problems affecting production.
- →DUTY 2: Performs work direction responsibilities.
- →Assigns work to individuals and provides technical direction and/or help in accomplishing difficult work steps and processes associated with quality assurance/inspection relative to repair and modification of unit aircraft and/or aircraft systems.
- →Observes work in progress to anticipate and resolve problems, reassigns personnel within group supervised, and coordinates work among workers and other supervisors to maintain work progress to meet schedules.
- →Interprets controversial technical orders and work directives and advises employees of revisions or changes to same.
- →Inspects completed work for quality and work order requirements.
