About the Role
THIS IS A NORTH DAKOTA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This ND National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, Position Description Number D1063000 and is part of the ND AVIATION 2, National Guard.
What You'll Do
- →The purpose of this position is to act as the Aircraft Mechanic (Crew Chief) with responsibility for managing the operational readiness of one or more aircraft, and proficiency training of supported aviation unit personnel.
- →Responsibilities include detailed technical oversight of individual aircraft's level of mission capabilities and projection of maintenance requirements to maintain individual aircraft operational readiness.
- →Manages, monitors or performs overall maintenance, servicing, inspections and documentation for one or more highly technical, high performance military aircraft.
- →Performs preflight, thru flight, and post-flight inspections and scheduled or unscheduled maintenance.
- →Serves as the technical authority to identify and advise on requirements for airframe, mechanical, electrical/environmental, avionics, engine, and pneudraulic repairs on assigned aircraft.
- →Observes and inspects performance of other workers work to insure compliance with applicable technical publications, directives and local policy.
- →Oversees ground movement of aircraft.
- →Ensures all aircraft documentation accurately reflects status and airworthiness of assigned aircraft.
- →Clears Red X status symbols on aircraft forms for work performed by others.
- →Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and support exercise.
- →Complies with safety, fire, security, environmental, and housekeeping regulations.
- →Ensures material and equipment are properly and safely maintained and protected.
