You will serve as an AEROSPACE ENGINEER (Senior Fixed Wing Flutter and Dynamics Engineer) in the Air Systems Group, Air Vehicle Engineering Department, Structures Division, Loads and Dynamics Branch of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as a senior Fixed Wing Flutter and Dynamics Engineer in the Loads and Dynamics Branch, Structures Division of the Air Vehicle Engineering Department.
- →You will evaluate the adequacy of structural dynamics analysis for fixed wing aircraft designs and modifications.
- →You will identify structural dynamics problems arising during development or modification of fixed wing aircraft and establish the optimal approach to solve the problems.
- →You will provide structural dynamics input for the planning and execution of research and development programs.
- →You will solve in-service aircraft structural problems under trying and immediate circumstances.
- →You will define the technical basis for establishing fixed wing aircraft structural dynamics operating limits.
- →You will evaluate design proposals/modifications and participate in contract negotiations to ensure specific structural dynamics design and test requirements are adequate and compliant with performance and fleet operational requirements.
- →You will approve the authorization for first and subsequent flights during the development programs of new and experimental fixed wing air vehicle designs including the establishment of safe operating limitations.
- →You will define and direct all structural dynamics aspects of air vehicle flight testing, landing and structural demonstrations, including the initiation of technical requirements; reviewing and approving test plans/results for acceptability.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
