One position is located at Headquarters, in Washington, DC, and the other position may be located at any DOI office. Information about Washington, DC area can be found here. We expect to fill 2 vacancies at this time; however, additional positions may be filled from this announcement if they become available. Temporary promotion will be for a period not-to-exceed 13 months. This temporary promotion may be extended without further competition; however it may not exceed a total of 2 years.
What You'll Do
- →Provides interface with top departmental program and staff officials.
- →Assures that matters and projects are developed at subordinate levels receiving the depth of review and coordination essential to meet the Director's objectives and are ready for action and endorsement.
- →Participates, and often takes lead, in the preparation and review of briefing or decision documents, and reports that develop the information necessary to make decisions that represent the views of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
- →Serves a special projects officer with responsibility for coordination and planning of special projects and events, which may involve the supervisor's participation.
