About the Role
About the Position: The Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practice-Clinical/Psychiatric) provides support to the Dumfries Health Clinic, helping ensure consistent, high-quality patient care and facility operations. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
What You'll Do
- →Provide comprehensive mental health care to adult uniformed personnel within the National Capital Region.
- →Perform psychiatric intakes, evaluations, and prescribes medications.
- →Educate patients about medication risks, benefits, and side effects; monitors progress and efficacy Coordinate with primary care and other providers for referrals, feedback, and ongoing care.
- →Maintain accurate records using computerized systems for documentation and coding.
- →Complie with Joint Commission standards, National Patient Safety goals, and other quality initiatives.
- →Participate in quality improvement systems and projects.
- →Provide on call coverage to Emergency Department and provide advanced practice nurse services to all military beneficiaries to include uniformed personnel and their families and military retirees.
