About the Role
As an Advanced Practice Nurse at the GS-0610-13, you will be part of the Workforce Engagement and Accommodation Resources (WEAR) Division, Office for Civil Rights, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). If selected, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical review and analysis of medical documentation submitted in connection with the agency's Reasonable Accommodation (RA) program and Workers' Compensation matters.
What You'll Do
- →Conducts thorough evaluations and reviews of medical documentation submitted by employees and applicants in support of RA requests to determine sufficiency, relevance, and consistency with the nature of the accommodation sought.
- →Serves as a clinical resource to agency officials, management, RA managers, and human resources EEO specialists, among others, on complex medical terminology, diagnostic criteria, and the interpretation of functional capacity evaluations.
- →Serves as the agency's primary point of contact for medical case review in Federal Employees’ Compensation Act (FECA) claims, coordinating with the U.S.
- →Department of Labor's Office of Workers' Compensation Programs (OWCP), as needed.
- →Prepares written medical summaries and recommendations for inclusion in the RA program and workers' compensation case files.
- →Advises on compliance with medical privacy requirements, including the confidentiality provisions of the Rehabilitation Act and applicable Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) considerations for third-party medical information.
