About the Role
The Administrative Officer position is located within Social Work Service (SWS) at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center and reports directly to the Chief of Social Work Service.
What You'll Do
- →Duties of the position include but are not limited to: You will facilitate the implementation of short and long-range plans and programs for the efficient administrative operation of the service.
- →You will identify, interpret and evaluate significant trends and data within the service and provides the Chief and Assistant Chief with information such as manpower utilization by shift/area, quality assurance requirements and goals, and workload.
- →You will ensure compliance with Medical Center, VISN, VACO, and accrediting agencies requirements and policies for the program and automated system goals and activities by performing audits and studies to measure the effectiveness/efficiency.
- →You will direct administrative support services to ensure that inquiries, correspondence, suspense actions and data for reports are addressed and completed appropriately.
- →You will assist the SWS Chief in the development of policies, procedures, communications and other documents.
- →You will develop, review, and interpret station memorandums.
- →You will serve as the departments liaison with the Human Resources Management Service and directs the personnel management program for the department by performing and/or overseeing the full range of human resource requirements.
- →You will provide ongoing orientation, training and assistance to new and existing personnel regarding office policies, processes and procedures.
- →You will advise management officials, supervisors, and employees on the interpretation and application of a variety of human resources policies, practices, and procedures including staffing, classification and related areas.
- →You will prepare and submit all resource requests Fiscal Service and maintains close liaison with Fiscal Service to resolve issues.
- →Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.
- →Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
- →Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm Compressed/Flexible: Not Authorized Telework: Ad-Hoc may be authorized.
