This position serves as the Administrative Officer for the Behavioral Health VA Careline (BVAC) at the VA Western New York Healthcare System. The AO will ensure that all BVAC sections are adhering to sound business practices and operating with optimum efficiency.
What You'll Do
- →Administrative Officer duties include: Develops, prepares, and maintains a variety of budget analyses to ensure awareness of budgetary resources for distribution or redistribution.
- →Acts as an advisor to the BVAC Careline Manager, on budget management in major behavioral health programs, and initiatives that are required and are subject to continuous change and evolution to meet the needs of the veterans.
- →Creates business plans to support resources need or adjustments.
- →Data collection using various applications to generate reports, satisfy action items, able to navigate Electronic Permission Access System (EPAS), be a resource to facility, VISN and VACO on behalf of BVAC.
- →Develops, prepares, and maintains a variety of budget analyses to ensure awareness of budgetary resources for distribution or redistribution.
- →The incumbent is the Human Resources expert initiating recruitment efforts, processing clearances and EPAS access.
- →Updating position descriptions to Support of the chief of service for BVAC and is the liaison with the Human Resources office.
- →Coordinates personnel action, maintains personnel-related records such part folders, Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation/For cause Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE/FPPE ) folders for physicians, performance ratings, position descriptions, awards, etc.
- →Provides support to the Careline Manager for the Personnel Management program for the BVAV Careline.

- →Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.
