The incumbent serves as the Administrative Officer for the Audiology & Speech Pathology Service at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System located in Palo Alto, CA. It serves a diverse veteran population over a large geographic region in Northern and Central California.

- →Position Description/PD#: Administrative Officer/PD03248-O Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not applicable Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not applicable PCS Appraised Value Offer (AVO): Not applicable The major duties and responsibilities include, but is not limited to: The incumbent manages and coordinates all administrative aspects of Audiology & Speech Pathology Service.
- →Provides formularized planning direction for Audiology & Speech Pathology Service.
- →Responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures for Audiology & Speech Pathology Service.
- →The incumbent develops, interprets, applies, and integrates objective criteria and acceptable standards for use in monitoring activities.
- →The position is for administrative management, responsibilities will include assessing patient satisfaction, quality management, stakeholder's affairs, budget control, utilization review and short/long range planning.
- →Administer the internal review, quality, and productivity initiatives for the organization.
- →The incumbent is responsible for developing both long and short-range policies and plans for the organization by coordinating the medical administration needs of the organization(s) for which are accountable.
- →The incumbent will recognize the need for new policies and bring such policies to the attention of the Chief of Audiology & Speech Pathology Service.
- →The policies and procedures apply to all of the various aspects of Audiology & Speech Pathology Service including budget and fiscal management; supply service and equipment procurement; personnel and workforce utilization; contract negotiation; construction and renovation; and space utilization.
- →Develops, evaluates, and modifies organizational structure and systems to achieve program goals.
- →The incumbent has the authority to plan for revised space assignments to investigate and to reallocate space to meet these demands.
- →Establishes unique or complex quality and productivity programs.
- →Participate in the analysis and interpretation of workload and other data used in resource planning.
