About the Role

The position is in the Ambulatory and Primary Care Service (A&PC) under the Chief of Staff. A&PC Service is a complex service which includes expert management across the health care system to include Primary Care services, Women's Health services, Whole Health Programming,Compensation and Pension Program.

What You'll Do

  • Fact-finding and analysis of data (performance metrics, provider profiling, financial, cost, etc.) and research of problems assigned to for review.
  • Responsible for contract and lease performance monitoring, contractor evaluations, and discrepancy reporting and correction.
  • Ensures accountability for appropriate use of A&PC funds.
  • Analyzes problems and present both written and oral recommendations taking into full consideration the wide range of factors and requirements which affect the management of the health care delivery system.
  • Recognizes the different functions and motivations of various employees and groups in the health care delivery system and ability to communicate effectively with each in order to gather information, present recommendations, and coordinate services.
  • Responsible for the short, mid, and long-range planning and programming aspects of the A&PC.
  • Liaison between the service and Facilities and Engineering for space allocation and utilization, and working with Clinic Managers, Systems Redesign, and other space and strategic planning managers to ensure effective and efficient space management.
  • Prepares a variety of key service reports, including annual reports, such as Management Briefing and Annual Business Plan.
  • Collaborates with the ACOS/A&PC to establish service-wide priorities, develop short and long-range goals, mutually analyze service problems and explore solutions that will effectively contribute to the success of the service.
  • Technical expert in A&PC regarding operational problems and personnel administrative issues.
  • Oversees and directs the recruitment and hiring of all Title 5 and Title 38 staff, WOCs, fee basis appointments and contract staff, such as, locum tenens physicians and clinical CBOC staff.
  • Responsible for budget development and execution for the A&PC Service.
  • Reviews the accuracy and adequacy of current financial, costing, and managerial reports and is responsible for quality assurance of all statistical reports and related data as they apply to higher level management.
  • Provides education, administrative guidance and input on the performance appraisals Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm, Negotiable tours available, subject to change based on the needs of the facility.
