About the Role

This position is located within the Medicine Section at the Fredericksburg Health Care Center (FXHCC) in Fredericksburg, VA. The position acts in an executive staff capacity to the Section Chief, Medicine, having the primary administrative responsibility for managing all operational aspects of the Medicine Section. Incumbent serves as the Administrative Officer of multiple clinical departments and reports to the Section Chief, Medicine.

What You'll Do

  • ***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Duties include but are not limited to the following: Develops progressive administrative, organizational and operational improvements and efficiencies within budget.
  • Implements a wide variety of management improvement initiatives utilizing current management principles and practices.
  • Provides full staff assistance on administrative matters affecting patient care, education, and organizational policy of the Medicine Section.
  • Utilizes expert knowledge of healthcare and resource management for the planning, evaluation, and organizational delivery of services, outcomes, and products.
  • Develops, evaluates, and modifies organizational structure and systems to achieve program goals.
  • Participates in the analysis and interpretation of workload and other data used in resource planning.
  • Maintains an awareness of available resources, and makes recommendations regarding needs, distribution, or redistribution of resources.
  • Performs strategic planning, budgetary oversight creating and maintaining statistical data for decision making purposes, developing, and monitoring cost avoidance and tools to scientifically evaluate program activities and effectiveness.
  • Develops interprets, applies and integrates objective criteria and acceptable standards for use in monitoring activities.
  • Provides for full administration of reporting, evaluation, and requirements associated with the Accreditation of the organization and establishes procedures to meet unusual or unique standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
