This incumbent reports to the Director of the Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinical Center (GRECC) at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System. Incumbent must have prior experience in managing research grants and in working with academic affiliates in addition to fulfilling the customary administrative, service-based obligations associated with human resources/personnel administration, finance and budget, information technology support and medical facility administrative matters.
What You'll Do
- →Your duties can include but are not limited to the following: Analyzes, plans, coordinates, initiates, and executes administrative functions associated with recruitment of GRECC employees.
- →Analyzes, plans, coordinates, and executes the budget for approving official, ensures appropriate procurement of the GRECC resources.
- →Serves as a resource of information about research funding opportunities and calls for research abstracts and papers.
- →Ensures timely preparation of and/or informational literature about the Center for public and internal use.
- →Plans, coordinates and/or conducts administrative/management projects within the GRECC.
- →Manages day-to-day operations of the GRECC.
- →Serving as a resource to the GRECC Advisory Subcommittee and, at the discretion of the GRECC Director and Advisory Subcommittee Chair, serving as an ex officio member of that group; or serving as the Designated Federal Officer for the GRECC Advisory Subcommittee when appointed by the VA medical facility Director.
- →Participating in the collection of data and finalizing the annual report of GRECC activities for submission to VACO.
- →The incumbent must have a comprehensive knowledge of VACO, VISN, VA Medical Center and University affiliated programs and their relationships.
- →Assists the Director in establishing and maintaining academic affiliations with University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Department of Geriatrics.
- →Work Schedule: Monday- Friday, 7:30AM-4:00PM subject to change based on the needs of the facility Telework: This position may be authorized for telework.
