About the Position: As a Striker Diesel Electric aboard a diesel/electric powered, self-propelled Class I pipeline dredge. The duty location will be wherever the Dredge Jadwin is located. This position is a Permanent, Full-Time, Seasonal Appointment.
What You'll Do
- →Stands a regular watch and assists the shift operator in the care and operation of engine room equipment by making frequent check of temperature and pressure gauges for proper reading.
- →Greases equipment, using pressure gun, selecting the proper lubricant for the different locations.
- →Maintains engine room in a clean and orderly condition.
- →Stands by control panel during peak load conditions to keep generators in balance so that operations will not be delayed by one generator becoming overloaded and circuit breaker kicking out.
- →Performs preventive maintenance work represented by changing fuel oil filters, replacing pumps, changing oil, assembly and disassembly work in assisting superior on major repair jobs.
