The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for a Full-Time Registered Nurse. The Registered Nurse will function within Patient Care Nursing Service under Acute Care Spinal Cord Injury-6B.

- →The Registered Nurse duties include but are not limited: Demonstrates the integration of biopsychosocial principles, critical thinking, and technically proficient nursing practice in the delivery of patient care.
- →Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care using age-appropriate principles and interventions.
- →Assumes responsibility for coordinating care that emphasizes patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction across the continuum of care.
- →Administers medications and performs procedures in accordance with established policies and clinical guidelines.
- →Influences patient care outcomes through effective collaboration with members of the interdisciplinary team.
- →Plans and delivers technically proficient patient care in accordance with the ANA Standards of Nursing Practice.
- →Demonstrates confident, effective communication with members of the healthcare team and consistently exhibits professional behaviors that promote cooperation and teamwork.
- →Shares expertise and fosters collaborative opportunities that strengthen team cohesiveness.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓This position is subject to random drug testing in accordance with agency policy.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.
- ✓Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process.
- ✓Acceptable form(s) of identification will be required to complete pre-employment requirements (https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/form-i-9-acceptable-documents).
- ✓Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued identification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
